Bluetooth headsets remain a popular cell phone accessory, and the latest models have come a long way in sound quality and versatility. The topmost requirements are for an ergonomic design that can travel with the customer. Something that feels uncomfortable is not a gratifying fit for today’s mobile consumer. The good news is that there are 5 excellent choices for you if you are seeking Bluetooth headsets.

Here are five of the best Bluetooth headsets for sound quality and function. For each choice, I have highlighted the factors that can add to the user’s comfort zone and expected quality.

1. The Aliph Jawbone is consistently rated as the best for reducing background noise.

• This is the only headset with a Voice Activity Sensor (VAS), allowing the device to better distinguish your voice and deliver clear communication.

• Background noise is virtually eliminated with their proprietary Noise Assassin and military grade noise reduction technology.

• The device includes a magnetic USB cable, giving you 80% charge in just 35 minutes.

2. To use your headset all day, one of the best choices is the Plantronics Voyager Pro.

• This lightweight headset has an ‘over the ear’ design making it very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

• The long battery life (over 6 hours) makes it ideal for long use. This is ideal for long distance travelling or for those of you whom spend a lot of time listening to music.

• There are three types of WindSmart technology that block interfering wind noise. This is one of most sought features of a headset.

3. For the ultimate luxury, there is the slicker Jabra JX20.

• It is encased in titanium which gives the headset a sleek look and feel.

• Titanium is also lightweight and strong so giving you more comfort and durability.

• The great aspect here lies in the moving mechanics which allows you to rotate between the on and off position.

4. One of the smallest headsets is the Motorola Mini H9.

• Its lightweight construction makes it comfortable to wear on the ear.

• The tiny size gives you an inconspicuous headset.

• A portable charger allows you to recharge almost anywhere.

5. Finally, for a headset with extra features, use the Nokia BH-902.

• An LCD display gives you call management directly from the headset, allowing redialing from the headset.

• The display can also give you missed calls and unread text messages.

If you go down to the shops today, there is a surprise or two in store where headsets are concerned. One of the above choices will provide you with a stylish Bluetooth headset.

Bluetooth headsets seem to have become part of a rather eclectic mix of mobile gadgetry involving headsets that want to push the ergonomics and technology that little bit further with each model. The Nokia Bluetooth BH-900 gives an elegant looking headset to users. The enhancements speak for themselves such as improved signal quality and a sliding microphone.

The mobile headsets are embracing DSP or Digital Signal Processing and looking for ways to improve on clarity and style. For most of us, if it seats comfortably and is providing high quality sound – that is enough. So, the elastic ear hook is a perfect choice for users to hit the comfort zone. Though you may want the slicker look as a Nokia user, something you can really appreciate.

Noise reduction capability is much improved, for example try listening in strong winds or a noisy bar. The DSP benefits are as clear as the quality. If the caller is complaining that clarity is not so great their end, this model comes with a sliding boom microphone. This way, you can adjust the audio levels on the microphone. The amount of talk time is a big plus with as much as 8 hours if necessary.

The Nokia BH-900 has buttons for volume, power and starting or terminating the call. It can also allow you to press to hold a call or redial if necessary. As a mobile gadget, it’s nice that the physical attributes were taken into consideration. It weighs very little and it can be easy to forget you are wearing it.

The style suits various people whether for business or personal use with dark grey and chrome colors. It’s a useful addition to the viral electronics market.

It also has an intercom or walkie-talkie style ‘Push to Talk’ function right on the headset. This is a multi-tasking feature really as you can have a group of users all chatting together over the network. You can’t send and receive messages at the same time just like a walkie-talkie. The advantage is that there is no dialing involved so this becomes a quick way to contact one or more people.

There may be compatibility differences with some models. The BH-900 is a Bluetooth Specification 1.1 compatible headset. Higher specifications are also supported. Some of its features like the ‘Push to Talk’ may not be compatible with various phones. So, if you have a different model, check the compatibility in the shop.

In a nutshell, the headset gives you style and quality all rolled into one very attractive Bluetooth device.

Bluetooth technology has taken the world by storm as far as being integrated into portable devices is concerned. Our mobile phones, gaming pads, and so many other devices are utilizing Bluetooth technology. A common demand now is Bluetooth headsets and the first Jawbone headset introduced this concept very well. However, the next model, the new Jawbone 2 has brought all the features plus many great improvements.

The Jawbone 2 is smaller, and voice quality is much improved. It has a slick design as opposed to its predecessor. It’s easy to use, compact and fits the ear nicely with its many shaped accessories and thin plastic ear hooks. What is making this new model more of an impact on the market? The answer is its award winning ‘Noise Assassin’ technology? It’s a revolutionary move as most background noise is not heard by the user. The clarity of the reception is clear even in a noisy environment like a bar or a shopping mall.

One of the many complaints was not being able to wear sunglasses with these headsets – that is fine with the Jawbone 2. The ear pieces are thin hooks so won’t interfere with your spectacles. The shielding is very comfortable with its perforated covering and it seats comfortably against your skin. It’s a pleasant and ergonomic design.

The one issue you will encounter is when the wind blows. If you take a stroll one windy night, the Jawbone 2 can be problematic as wind is not constant interference like an electrical unit. The filtering will not be constant as a result.

Despite the size, there’s no actual fast way to conceal the headset. Though, this is not a bad thing as when you pass people in the street, they won’t think you are talking to yourself!

One disadvantage is that the small buttons can be accidentally pressed when trying to adjust its seating position on your ear. This is because they are touch-sensitive buttons. One button starts or terminates a call, and the other is the noise toggle. Though, this touch button approach reduces clutter normally seen on Bluetooth headsets.

The Jawbone 2 is a must-have if you spend a great deal of time using your phone. It’s ultra-smooth, sleek in design, and takes noise reduction to a new level of high quality headset reception.

Your first question might actually be, why would I want to connect my bluetooth phone to my computer? It is a great way to transfer photos, mp3’s and other files from your mobile phone to your computer without the purchase of cables that only work with one phone or expensive software for a specific phone.

How do I connect my bluetooth phone with my computer? First you need to turn your phones visibility on. Most phones you do this by going into the menu, settings and they should be an option for “connections.” Bluetooth will or should be under your connects, like I said this is for most phones. You need to first make sure your bluetooth is turned on. Next you need to turn on your bluetooth’s visability.

As far as your computer goes. You either need a laptop/tower with bluetooth build in or a bluetooth USB adapter. You can generally get a bluetooth USB adapter for less than $30, and these are very useful and can be used with multiple phones, which is great about bluetooth.

After you have your bluetooth USB installed on your computer, then you need to sync them together. The easiest way that I have found to do this is to do it from the phone. Under your bluetooth settings under your phone, they should be an option to search for new devices or to pair it. Once your perform the search it should find your computer. Select to pair it with your computer. It will ask you for the passcode on the phone it should be “0000″ that is four zeros. You should get a pop up from the system tray on a windows machine asking if you want to pair your bluetooth with this device. You need to tell it yes and it will ass for the passcode, which again is four zeros “0000.” You should then be ready to use your bluetooth enabled phone with your computer.
